Looking for something a little extra? This little bird and trout knife is what you are after!
Same old sharptail but this one is sporting a drop point blade with a forced patina that reminds me of our gamebird’s natural camouflage.
The sleek walnut handles exhibit a tan canvas micarta accent sandwiched between blue liners set off with two brass and one mosaic pin.
The blade itself is razor sharp 80crv carbon steel with a fine 3inches of edge for delicate work.
Seven inches overall length
Comes with a simple pocket sheath.
I designed this as a bird and trout knife you can tuck away in your vest until needed. Its slim size is also ideal as an everyday carry pocket fixed blade.
What is forced patina? All knives patina with use, and patina can actually prevent rust to some degree. So I sped up the patina process with a design that reminds me of game bird plumage.
Oil or wax should still be used to prevent corrosion in wet environments.
Always clean your knife after processing game.
